The Federal Electoral Tribunal ordered the State Council of the PRD in Morelos to remove Abel Espin García as President of the party in that state, because it occupies simultaneously a seat in the Senate. This was held in a decision issued on August 3rd, 2012, by the Mexico City’s Regional Chamber of the Federal Electoral Tribunal, in the proceeding registered with the number 1335/2012, sponsored by Rusconi & Sauza.
